Resources - Paper Qualities

COATED PAPERS - GLOSS / MATT / SILK Coated paper has an extra layer on the paper to improve its print quality. These coats are called Gloss, Matt or Silk depending on the effect required. We always use coated paper for leaflets, flyers, menus and magazines.

UNCOATED PAPERS - BOND / PULP Uncoated paper has no extra layer on the paper and is much more ink absorbent than its coated counterparts and provides a much "duller" (less reflective) image. However, it is generally used for letterheads and compliment slips.

BLUE - BACK For large format posters and billboards.

NCR Known as No Carbon Required paper or "Carbonless Paper". NCR paper can transfer written text from one page to the back page or multiple back pages. This is normally used for invoice pads and forms so a double copy of the text is available.

2 Part NCR - Top White / Bottom-Tinked

3 part NCR - Top White / Middle-Tinted / Bottom-Tinked
